Applications are being accepted online by Staff Selection Commission (SSC) for Constable (GD) in Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) and SSF, and Rifleman (GD) in Assam Rifles Exam 2026, which aims to fill up 25487 constable posts in participating units. Mode of Recruitment :
The selection process consists of Computer Based Examination, Physical Efficiency Test, Physical Standard Test, Medical Examination (DME/RME), and Document Verification.Computer Based Examination (CBE)
Computer Based Exam will be an objective-type test conducted in English, Hindi and 13 regional languages. It will include 80 questions carrying 2 marks each with negative marking of 0.25 marks for a wrong answer.

Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
Candidates shortlisted in CBT will appear for PET, which will require race to be completed within the prescribed time.

Physical Standard Test (PST)
PST includes measurement of height, chest (for males) and weight as per prescribed standards.
- Height: Male 170 cm, Female 157 cm (relaxations apply for eligible categories).
- Chest (Male): 80 cm unexpanded, 5 cm expansion (relaxations apply).
- Weight: Proportionate to height and age.
Medical Examination (DME/RME)
Candidates qualifying PET/PST will undergo Detailed Medical Examination to assess physical and medical fitness, followed by Review Medical Examination for eligible cases.
Document Verification (DV)
Shortlisted candidates will be called for Verification of essential documents including educational certificates, domicile, caste certificate (if applicable), NCC certificate (if claimed), and other required documents.
Final Selection
Final merit and force allocation will be based on normalized CBE marks (plus NCC bonus marks where applicable), subject to qualifying PET/PST, Medical Examination and Document Verification.

- SC / ST / Women / Ex-Servicemen candidates: No fee
